Etro: The Prints of Paisley

Getting dressed on a drizzly day is tedious. You pick clothes that are functional, and not beautiful. And even if you do create a cute outfit, you hide it with water-resistant outerwear.

Ugh. A raincoat. Such a practical garment. Usually cut in such blah colors. Or so I thought...

This incredible printed raincoat is by Etro. Known for their paisley prints, Etro has been one of my favorite Italian designer labels for years. When I lived in Florence, I used to drool all over their display windows. Their window dressers are pattern-mixing virtuosos.

Because it's so outlandish, I feel like I could wear this coat anywhere, for any occasion. Like a cocktail party. With a slip-dress underneath, it would give just the right Escaping Adulteress vibe. And when if I spilled anything on myself, the coated cotton wipes clean.

On my head is the Giro Surface Multi-Sport Helmet. Tights are from Old Navy. Vintage heeled oxfords similar to the Right Here Heel in Brown.
