Color of the Year Bike Helmet: Coming Soon

When Pantone announced the Color of the Year for 2015 back in December, I was delighted by their choice. Marsala is a gorgeous burgundy-red that feels classic and fresh at the same time. Because Pantone sets the standard for the fashion industry, all the shops and boutiques will be full of this highly wearable shade.

Well, not all the shops. As awesome as biking is, the bike industry is not known for being up-to-date on the fashion trends. Despite the hard work of yours truly. Which means that there are no bike helmets available in this universally flattering color.

But I had to have a Marsala colored helmet. Especially since it matches so nicely with my limited edition Bike Pretty Satchel. In order to make my cycle chic dreams come true, I asked Danielle of Belle Helmets to collaborate with me on a Color of the Year bike helmet.

Danielle custom mixed the color and had the genius idea of using retro reflective material to make the bow decal on the back. As she points out, "Style and safety should work together." Like any other stylish accessory you wear, it's important that your bike helmet can go from day to evening.

I am thrilled with how this helmet turned out! It's a clean silhouette with a softly matte finish that lets the color itself shine through. And we purposefully left the front free of any branding or ornamentation so that the focus is on you, not your helmet.
