Heavy on the Houndstooth: Chic Bike Outfit Ideas from London Tweed Run 2013

The Tweed Run is a rich source of outfit ideas. I love this photo of @Cyclodelic having a sexy Catherine Baba moment, as captured by Kelly.

Amy Flueriot, the designer behind Cyclodelic, stood out from the mutely tweedy crowd with her statement skirt-suit.

And isn't she adorable?!

In homage to Houndstooth Road, an Atlanta-based retailer of European-style bikes, she picked a magenta and blue houndstooth tweed ensemble.

It's such an exciting color combination that the effect is literally called vibrating boundaries by color theorists.

Notice how the little touches of yellow hold their own against such a bold suit. Put all together the effect is harmonious, rather than clashing, because the strong tones balance each other out.

So if you're wondering how to wear something similarly loud, try pairing it with an equally noisy friend. It's counterintuitive. But it could be what you need to turn your outfit up to eleven.
